Turtle Bay This quilt was the result of a computer art class I took at the college where I learned to use Adobe Photoshop. We were to scan something, and then work it into a piece of art of our choosing. I scanned the turtle from a picture in a book, and printed him out on to a fabric sheet that can go through an ink jet printer, and then be fused to another fabric. Then the turtle needed a home to live in. The background fabric was pieced from a leftover strip of border fabric from "Dunescape" (2000). The yellow/black/blue fish had also made an appearance in "Pirate Ship" (2001). Some of the other fish, plus that strange, yellow thing in the foreground (coral?), were images from the Internet that I printed on to the same type of fabric that I had used for the turtle. I was really happy with the final result! |
