Blue Freeform Crochet I start off a piece like this by crocheting around a metal hoop, then crocheting chains which I stretch across the piece and attach in different places. I worked with several colors of yarn, doing free-form crochet, and "growing" the piece, like a web, or maybe fungus?? The pieces attached to the crochet are made with polymer clay. I made holes in the clay pieces before they were baked so that I'd have a place to thread through with the yarn. Because I constantly stretch the yarn while I crochet, the piece is very taut. |
